2021 saw a lot of the same photographs that you’ve come to know me for. But there’s been some different things thrown into the mix. That’s been so good for my creativity and knowledge around working with dogs. I’ve photographed and spent time with dog trainers and walkers.

There’s been A LOT of puppies visiting the photo studio!

There’s been an engagement photoshoot.

Another photoshoot where my client wanted to wear her wedding dress again so we can make a stunning portrait in their bridal wear WITH their beloved dog. I photographed them at a pop up studio called Peach Palace that is the dreamiest, girliest, pink and white space that was the perfect blank canvas to capture them on. This lead to even more photoshoots at Peach Palace. It’s such a gorgeous space.

If you ever have an idea of a place you want to be photographed at, let’s connect.

I’ve opened my eyes to using other spaces to photograph in and am updating my studio and props to keep my portraits fresh for you.

Yes, it’s a dog’s bum! I was fascinated with the swirls on Mako’s bum and made this unique photograph. His mum loved it and it has pride of place on the walls in her home. It’s a conversation piece for sure :-)

Rescue dog Monty from Whangaparoa visit the Auckland studio.

River the retriever puppy on reflective floor in studio. Puppies grow so quick, it’s amazing to make dog’s portraits when they’re small, it’s priceless to be able to look back at this stage.

Flower wreaths

My classic flower dog shot with wreaths and flower crowns. Every photoshoot I do, I make one / two dog flower wreath photos. The flower wreath is tailor made to your dog’s size and your favourite colour and flowers. It is one of the favourite photographs that my clients 90% of the time don’t want to live without. These are just a few of my faves.

I had quite a few return clients who wanted to have a flower wreath portrait made with a new family member to add to their flower portrait series.

Retriever puppy Otis poses with his flower wreath at the Auckland studio.

Black and white dog photography

I love a good black and white! Especially in portraits that have a bit more emotion in them. With every photoshoot, I usually make a few photos black and white.

You and your dog

Portraits of you and your furbaby. Hair and makeup is available before you step into the spotlight with your pooch. It’s an experience my clients love - they say it boosts their confidence when they’re in front of the camera, plus they take their made up selves out for a fancy lunch after.

One of my all time favourite portraits from this year. I love the peach tones in this studio portrait of owner and frenchie puppy. I love the way she leans into him, and his little foot hanging against her body. We had to be quick because he’s too heavy to hold for long!
