The Colletts wanted new family portraits made in their favourite parts of the city to commemorate their time living in Auckland. They often walk around the Viaduct and Silo Park and particularly at sunset time when the city lights start to go on.
This shoot wasn’t like any of my other photo sessions, but I’m happy Carrie reached out and I tailor made an experience for them. What’s super about this, is that the entire photo shoot is different. It’s an entire breath of fresh air for my creative brain!
We made some truely unique and different portraits. We played with my lensball, got some great family portraits without showing their faces ;-) (shoe shots), and had so many laughs posing in front of the skytower.
We thought it would be cute to have seagulls in the photo… turns out I had a good use for the snackbar I always carry around in my camera bag. Just in case.
While they’re standing in front of the Auckland skyline for their new family portrait, I’m throwing small pieces of food to their feet to get the birds closer. Tip about using food to get seagulls in the shot, don’t use too much or you’ll have to edit out all the crumbs. SUCH a fun story and SUCH a fun shoot!
