You want a photoshoot with your dog and family, however, your partner is not keen. Perhaps they don’t like the camera or they’d rather be using their time elsewhere instead of making beautiful artwork of you and your dog. They simply don’t know how much this means to you.

Partners/ other family members often join for the entire photoshoot, but for the ones who don’t, they either come at the beginning of the shoot, we make your family portrait first and they dash off. Or your partner can join the last part of your photoshoot so we’re sure to get that one important photograph of the WHOLE family.

3 Reasons to persuade them to be part of the family photo shoot:

  1. Tell them their presence is part of a birthday/ anniversary/ Christmas gift.

  2. They only really need to be at the shoot for 10-15 minutes.

  3. If they’re not at (part of) the shoot, they won’t be in the photograph you put on the wall.

Biddie from Tuesday Label was in this very situation. Here’s what she says.

Everyone knows how much I love our dog Hazel; she comes with me everywhere, even to work.

I have friends who have had pet photos done in the past and it’s always intrigued me.

But my camera-shy hubby has never ever been on board with the idea so I left it.

However, cue cute pics of animals in handmade floral headbands and I got thinking…

Why should we miss out just because not everyone in the family is keen?!!

And so I went ahead; the little kids & myself, while my husband and man-sized stepson stayed away.

It was so much fun and Salome was fabulous with keeping Hazel’s attention.

The whole process with Yellow Lab was quick and easy and the results are just as cute as I’d hoped.

Salome presented me with a slideshow of all the shots she’d taken, with her faves beautifully printed out & framed.

We worked together to choose our final selection, making sure my children got their picks too.

I’m so pleased I did it, and encourage anyone else who has pondered the idea - even if your family isn’t a starter.

Not only did we get the furry members of their family in their portraits, but we made sure to feature Biddie’s own dress and tee designs in her photographs. She is such a talented designer!

These are a few of the favourites from this epic photoshoot
