You want to have a family photoshoot, you also want one with your dog so that you can capture the love between your dog and family members.
It's on your list of to do's to book a family photo session but it's not on the priority list and you're just not getting to it. So months and years go by and you're just not booking it.
Today I'm helping you, with when is the best time to get your dog and family photoshoot booked.
Yellow Lab photo sessions have 2 parts to them. The first part is in studio. Second part is on location.
You need to ask yourself if you have your heart set on blossom photos, autumn leaves, in greenery or if you want a family session on the beach. Once you know if the season is important to you, then you'll determine WHO is going to come to the photoshoot.
Will it be you and your dog?
Will it be you, your partner and dog?
Will it be your family with small kids?
Do you have school going kids coming to the photoshoot?
You need to know which weekday suits your family best. Photoshoots take place on a weekday morning. Most people take a sneaky day off work and the rest of the day, they're all made up and looking great, so it's the perfect time to go out for a nice lunch or cocktails.
If you can't take the day off, you can take the morning off and head back to the office after. If it's your partner joining for the photoshoot, he can come for the first part of the shoot and dash off to work once your family portrait is made. Alternatively, he can join near the end of the shoot over lunch time so we can get him into the family portrait.
People with kids at school like to book during the school holidays. Then you don't have to take the kids out of school, plus it's something to do with them!
The best time to do your family photographs is now. Don't wait ten years between family portrait sessions. Some clients come back every two years and there are others who I see annually.
I personally see how my own kids change SO MUCH so quickly.
My personal favourite is that we have the chance to document your puppy at its cutest. Without photographs, you won’t remember just how adorable your little furbaby was when you got him/ her.
Don't postpone it. Have your family photographed now, so you can remember this time, this awesome life you have now, right now.
