I love flowers. It’s no secret that I’m constantly including it in my dog photography AND newborn baby photo sessions in Auckland.

I got an idea in my head, of creating a lady’s head and shoulder shot with an oversized/ large flower crown that’ll look amazing in a lounge / living room setting.

I’ve achieved that and more.

It’s important to me to have creativity in my photographs. I have a shoot list on every photo session but for the largest part, my clients trust me as an artist to create unique & beautiful portraits for them of their dogs, newborn babies, themselves and their families.

I’ve realised how important it is, to keep my eyes and heart open so I’m open to see beyond the usual ‘shots’ I do so my work stays fresh and all my photographs don’t start looking too much the same and at the same time continue to grow and evolve my style.

I chose my favourite colours and flowers and created a flower crown.

I slept with a french braid in my long hair, set up my backdrops and favourite lighting set up, did some light makeup on myself and got my husband to photograph me. It’s not every day I get to be in front of the camera and am chuffed with the photographs we created. Side note: my husband’s a talented photographer too!

With my hair blowing, the blonde curly locks remind me of a Venus painting. It’s completely fun, different and a refreshing portrait of myself I really like.

I’ve since created this kind of portrait for another lady. I can see this in a master bedroom as art on the wall. I’m certainly keen to offer this to my clients. I’d like to know your thoughts on this. What do you think?

Which one of these should I print for MY bedroom walls? Let me know in the comments below!

If you’d love to create something like this for yourself, shoot me a mail. I’d love to connect with you about your ideas to create beautiful art for your walls.
