One of my favourite things about photographing dogs in Auckland is that no two dogs are ever the same. I recently crunched the numbers (from the past five years of photoshoots! I was not going to process a decade’s worth of photos :-P) and spotted some fun patterns.
So, which dogs have stepped in front of my camera the most? 🐾
💛 Top breeds photographed (by percentage):
✨ Labradors — 10.6%
✨ Rescue / Mixed breeds — 10.6%
✨ Border Collies — 7.2%
✨ French Bulldogs — 5.6%
✨ Golden Retrievers — 5%
✨ Cavoodles, Labradoodles, Schnauzers, Jack Russells, Maltese mixes — each around 3.3%
✨ Labradors — 10.6%
It’s a tie between labradors and rescue mixed breeds coming in at 10.6% of dogs I photograph the most.
✨ Rescue / Mixed breeds — 10.6%
✨ Border Collies — 7.2%
I’ve photographed Border Collies 3rd most at 7.2%
✨ French Bulldogs — 5.6%
French Bulldogs take 4th place of most photographed dog breed at 5.6%. I’ve photographed A LOT of frenchies over the last 2 years so wonder if there’s a trend here.
✨ Golden Retrievers — 5%
I’m surprised goldies are in 6th place as they’ve only been 5% of dogs I’ve photographed.
✨ Cavoodles, Labradoodles, Schnauzers, Jack Russells, Maltese mixes — each around 3.3%
I photograph a lot of Cavoodles, Labradoodles, Schnauzers, Jack Russells, Maltese mixes. There are so many different breeds and mixes and each come in at around 3.3%.
I’ve also had the joy of photographing some rarer breeds — like Dalmatians, Chihuahuas, Greyhounds, whippets, Chow Chows, Spanish Water dogs, Miniature American Shepherd, Sustralian Shepherd, Leonbergers, Cane Corso, Bernese Mountain dogs and many more.
