Photography advice, one on one. Your camera explained in easy ways you will understand.

You have a shiny new camera, and no idea how to use it. You’ve played with it in Sport mode, but you don’t know how to freeze your dog’s action photographs. You want to make portraits of blown out backgrounds and beautiful bokeh, but no matter what you do, you’re not achieving it. Perhaps you want to build a gorgeous insta feed or maybe you’d like to take your photography hobby a little more seriously.

When you’re shooting with a camera you don’t understand, it can be incredibly frustrating. But the truth is you don’t understand it. Yet.

There’s so many complicated buttons and they all work in sync with each other, when you change one thing everything else seem to fall apart. But it doesn’t have to be hard.

It took me years to bite the bullet and finally learn and understand MANUAL mode.

I’m a creative, so just the thought of understanding the technical bits and know how of photography was enough to make me want to run away.

I’m not going to teach you how to shoot in manual mode, but I’ll explain it in a simple way, so you can know what is wrong when, and I will suggest the appropriate settings for you to be shooting on (mostly), for the types of photography you do.

IN PERSON PHOTOGRAPHY LESSON

HOBSONVILLE POINT AUCKLAND — $300

IF YOU’D PREFER A 1 HR ONLINE CALL, WORLDWIDE — $200, GO HERE.

Bring your dog along as your subject, or not (there’s a lot of different beautiful scenery in my hood we can use as examples).

This is your chance to pick my brain for 1,5 hr about how your camera works. Session will take place in Hobsonville Point Auckland on a weekday or weekend morning. Ask me questions on how certain photographs are achieved and what you can do to get it.

I’ll bring my camera bag (in Auckland) with so you can try out my different lenses. If you shoot Nikon, theres a good chance they’ll fit on your camera body. If not, I have a variety of lenses you can try out on my camera.

TOPICS COVERED:

  • Understanding the exposure triangle*

  • A new lens or expensive camera? The problem with kit lenses explained and how to fix it

  • Tips and tricks to create better photographs

But mostly, YOUR questions will be answered, so get in touch and let me help you make the photos you want to be shooting but don’t know how yet. Tell me what you’re struggling with right now and I’ll help. I’m not going to tell you you need to buy new gear - I’ll show you how you can get your desired results or as close as possible to, with what you have.

This is a great gift for the photography enthusiast in your life. Flick me a mail and we’ll arrange an electronic voucher/ physical gift card.
