3 fun ideas for your furbaby’s birthday
1 - Go for a long walk at your favourite beach or a new hiking trial
Dogs are happiest when they’re out exploring with their favourite humans. Take your dog for a long leisurely stroll on her favourite beach / park or if you and your doggo is super fit head to a new hiking trial. All the new scents and spaces will surely tire out your excited pooch on such a happy day.

2 - Order a gourmet birthday cake for your dog and his friends
It’s not a birthday unless there’s cake, right? My friend Irene from The Little Cake Co. creates personalised birthday cakes for dogs (and cats!) Every cake is made to your colours and your doggy can have his photo made into fondant on her cake. It’s too cool! I love how creative she is and how each doggy head on the cakes look exactly like that doggy. These Auckland gourmet dog cakes are sure to be a real treat for your pup.
You can keep it for your doggy to have (not all at once!!!) or choose to share it with his mates at a puppy play date or pawty at your local Auckland dog park with his instagram family. If you do this, remember to cut every pup a piece of cake and give it to them individually.
We used liver cake as treats for Irene and Lily’s photoshoot to get Lily’s attention, and I could tell it must be tasty as!
3 - Celebrate your best friend with a doggy centered family photoshoot
With a Yellow Lab signature photo shoot, your dog is the star of the photo session. The shoot is planned around him/her, but the entire family gets photographed together and with the birthday pup. Family & dog portraits are a celebration of your life and special artwork you will treasure for a long time. Read more here about photoshoots. Hair and makeup is available if you’d like to be pampered and feel your best in the photographs.
